Discipleship

A DISCIPLE according to the Bible is one that "continues in his Word" John 8:31. In other words it is a self-identification for those who seek to learn from the teachings of Jesus. It is derived from the New Testament Greek word "mathetes", which means pupil (of a teacher) or the Latin meaning of discipulus meaning "a learner." A DISCIPLE is one who learns from a teacher, in other words a student.

A Christian DISCIPLE is a person who accepts in the spreading of the good news of Jesus Christ. DISCIPLESHIP is the process by which disciples grow in the Lord Jesus Christ and equipped with the Holy Spirit, resides in our hearts to overcome the pressures and trials of this present life and become more in the likeness of Christ.

This process requires to be in the Word daily, studying, praying, and obeying it. Furthermore, it is essential that a true DISCIPLE be always ready to give Christ's testimony and to DISCIPLE others to walk in His way.
